August Events and Classes

Hello Stampers!

Well, the summer has just been flying by and I've neglected to update my blog in way too long. I'm sorry about that! Hopefully you've stuck with me and will see this update (although I'll try to get an email out this week as well).

First, I have bad news. For those of you that I haven't seen in a class lately or kept up with on facebook... My Mother passed away in her sleep on July 12th. She finished chemo for breast cancer just 9 days earlier. It looked like everything was going to be fine...I'm really struggling with losing her and also with all of the changes that are taking place with her gone. I'm one of those people that likes to be able to envision what my life will be like 6 months or a year from now and I just can't do that right now. It's been very hard. Normally I would call my mom about this type of thing and she would tell me that everything was going to be fine and that I just needed to get on with it. It just doesn't sound the same in my head or my voice as it would coming from her.

However... I DO have a vision for my classes and my Stampin' Up! and I know it's one thing I have to lean on (creativity and sharing) during rough times.

I spent 5 Days in Salt Lake City earlier this month at our Stampin' Up! Annual Convention. WOW! I got some really great ideas. I can't wait to share them with you. I even got about 100 swaps done so I have all of those new ideas to show you next time you're at a class.

Right now I'm in sunny (and very humid/hot) Englewood Beach, Florida. It's a vacation that we look forward to every year. This year things have been changed up a bit because we're not here alone. We've got 16 of my husband, Tim's, other family members here with us. It's been a lot of fun, I may need to come home to rest though :)

Here are my August Classes and Events!

Holiday Mini Catalog Kick-Off
Wednesday Evening, Aug 7th, from 7 to 9pm
Thursday Morning, Aug 8th, from 10am to Noon

This event is FREE! Join us as we go through the brand new Holiday Mini Catalog. You'll hear about my favorites, get some great tips for new items and see a lot of new products. You'll complete a couple of small make and takes (so be sure to bring scissors and adhesive with you!) PLUS All Attendees will be able to take advantage of my $1 Sale... You have two choices: Buy 3 items from either catalog at full price and get one item, of equal or lesser value for just $1.17 (includes s/h and tax) OR Buy 1 item from the catalog at regular price and get one RETIRED item of equal or lesser value for just $1.00. Either way it's a bargain!!!
Bring your Holiday Mini Catalog (or pick one up there if you haven't received one yet), AND scissors and adhesive with you for the make and takes. Bring a Friend (someone I've never met before) and receive a free gift! Please RSVP so I know how many project kits to prepare!

Back to School 8x8 Home Decor Page
Wednesday Evening, Aug 14th, from 7 to 9pm
Thursday Morning, Aug 15th, from 10am to Noon

Cost of Class: $22 (Prepaid by Aug 8th, $30 if you need an 8x8 Shadowbox Frame added)

Join us as we create a cute 8x8 Home Decor Page with a Back to School Theme. We'll use stamps, punch-art and lots of embellishments to complete this page that you can add to your 8x8 Shadowbox Frame. Please bring scissors and adhesive (you may also want Mini Glue Dots and a 2-Way Glue Pen) with you to class. RSVP with payment no later than August 8th to hold your space in class.

August Cards (Christmas!!!) Class
Wednesday Evening, Aug 21st from 7 to 9pm
Thursday Morning, Aug 22nd from 10am to Noon

Cost of Basic Class: $18.00
Cost of Stepped Up Class (More embellishments!): $22.00

This month's theme is Christmas Cards! Join us as we create 3 each of 4 different Christmas Card Designs. We'll be using lots of fun new products from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I'll have everything cut and prepped and ready for you to stamp, embellish and assemble. The Stepped Up Class will include more embellishments to really dress up your cards! Bring scissors and adhesive (you may also want Mini Glue Dots and 2-Way Glue) with you to class. RSVP with payment no later than August 8th to hold your space in class.

Monogrammed Cards Gift Set with Case
Wednesday Evening, Aug 28th, from 7 to 9pm
Thursday Morning, Aug 29th, from 10am to Noon

Cost of Class: $18.00

Make this set of Monogrammed Cards for someone special (or yourself!). You'll decorate a sturdy case and then create 6 different (all the same monogram) cards to showcase your choice of Monogram Letters. Envelopes are included. Everything will be cut and prepped for you and ready for you to stamp, embellish and assemble. Bring scissors and adhesive (you may also want Mini Glue Dots and 2-Way Glue) with you to class. RSVP with payment no later than August 8th to hold your space in class.
