Muffins with Mom

We had Muffins with Mom this morning at my son Nathan's school. It's always totally chaotic and crazy, but Nathan loves it so we decided to go (not that he's crazy about going with me, but they have Doughnuts too! LOL!). When he leaves to go to Sixth Grade next year, it will be the first time in 14 years that I don't have a child at the elementary school!!! Wow, that's quite a milestone.

One thing I love about Nathan is that his love of life is SO contagious. Can't you just tell how much fun he's having by looking at the picture of the two of us this morning?

Hope you all have a great day!

Seriously? It's been a month?

Wow- I didn't even realize it had been that long since I posted last. I said I wasn't going to be one that came on here and constantly apologized, but that is a bit long. And, I am sorry that I've neglected the blog for an entire month. Hopefully, I'll make up for it because I've got a lot to post. Thank you to everyone that told me that they were tired of seeing my email update and I needed to get in here and post something NEW!

I've been busy and not so busy. I've never been one to go through Springtime depression (October is my month for THAT!), but if I don't snap out of this all-consuming need to sleep soon, I'm gonna have to cave in and go to the doctor for some meds. Ugh! It's not that I have anything against them (or anyone that takes them), it's just that I'm trying to get to the point where I'm not so medically needy and adding in another Rx is not helping me with that goal!

Anyway, I've got a couple of really great classes coming in May at Cord:

The first picture is my Monograms Messages class and we're going to make all 12 cards shown. We'll use two great new kits from Cosmo Cricket and a little bit of paper from Bo Bunny. Everything, as usual, will be pre-cut and ready for assembly. Envelopes are included. You just need to bring a dark brown ink pad and your adhesives with you (including a Zig two-way glue pen). Date: Monday, May 11th - Time: 6:00-7:30pm - Cost $25 (for 12 cards!). Call the Hilliard Cord at 876-1122 to sign up. Class kits are available!

The second picture is from my Prom Page class, where we'll complete this 2-page layout using products from Bo Bunny, Creative Imaginations, Bazzill, Cricut, Doodlebug and Ranger. In addition to completing the layout, you'll learn some fun embellishment techniques for pre-printed transparencies. We can even change the date on the page to whatever year you need (1983 anyone?). Again, everything will be pre-cut for you, you just need to bring your favorite adhesives (including a Zig two-way glue pen and glue dots). Class kits are available (if you go this route, you'll need a bottle of 'white' Stickles to finish your page). Date: Friday, May 22nd - Time: 6:00-7:30 - Cost: $18 Call the Hilliard Cord at 876-1122 to sign up, I only have 5 spots still available for this class!!!

In other news, I've been working on Digital Scrapbooking stuff for my friend, Kim of Geeky Diva Designs. I'm really enjoying the whole digital thing. Pictures below are some of the things I did this weekend using her templates and some digikits from http://www.scrapmatters.com/. And, for those of you who are wondering if that means I've broken my addiction to paper and ink, I say very thankfully, "NO!". I can't imagine not doing both (all?) of my obsessions. There is just something about paper and embellishments and a messy scrapbook room that gets me right here (fist over heart)! God help me ;) I even just bought 4 new albums so I can finally get all of the pages I've already done really organized. I love the WeR Memory Keepers 12x12 (faux) Leather albums. D-ring for easier insertion / removal of pages. They come in such great colors that I was able to get a different color for each child. I'm wondering if I should go back and get that Baby Blue one for the grandson? Sigh, I know it's going to happen, might as well bite the bullet and get it taken care of, right? Plus, he's too cute to not have an album of his own. LOL!
