Ribbon of Courage - Mr. Ed Card

Hi Stampers! Sorry I missed you the last couple of days but I'm back today with a 3rd Mr. Ed Card :)

This one uses the beautiful Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set and Dies Bundle and a little bit of an unusual color combination. Some things to note:

  • I really wanted to make the flower and the ribbon pop, so I stamped the ribbon in Flirty Flamingo onto Powder Pink cardstock, and then the flower was also cut out of Flirty Flamingo. It adds some depth to the colors. I really like the combination!
  • Notice the details in the flower and leaf cutouts? Stampin' Up! just redesigned their Big Shot Die Brush and I think it's a necessity to get all of the bits and bobs out of the center of your dies and die cuts. It's super easy to use! The new configuration also comes with two of the foam pads so you have a replacement when the first wears out.
  • The center of the flower is adorned with one of our new Faceted Gems. These gems already have adhesive on them so you can place them wherever you want without any fuss. They're also thin enough to mail without additional postage (depending, of course, on how many OTHER layers you have on your card). We used the Silver Gems, but they also come in Gold!

Graceful Petal Garden

Today's Card is one you'll see at Card Buffet this week.

Some things to note:

  • The Petal Garden 6x6 paper stack was used on the bottom part of the card. By cutting it to 4x3", you can get 2 out of a sheet of paper, which will give you 8 matching pieces from the whole stack.
  • Shimmery White Cardstock was used for the images, this adds a sheen and mutes the colors somewhat.
  • Bold Brights Stampin' Write Marker set includes both the Rich Razzleberry and the Old Olive Markers needed for this card.
  • Using Basic Gray Archival Ink (instead of Basic Black) to stamp the sentiment really softens the look of the card.

Hope to see you in class!

Daisy Delight with Tranquil Tide

Hello Ladies- I hope you're enjoying this beautiful summer afternoon. Even thought it's a little warm outside, I have the windows open and the air turned off. I can hear all kinds of bugs, frogs and birds outside (they're obviously enjoying today, as well!) And, I can hear music and the crowds from the Franklin County Fairgrounds which are just a few blocks away. I LOVE that!

Don't forget about Card Buffet this Tuesday night, Wednesday night and Thursday morning. You can get more details Here!

Today, I've got another Daisy Delight card for you. I was actually thinking that it might be kind of fun to do 3 cards in a row using the same stamps. That way you could see different options for them. I may just do that every now and then, what do you think? Kind of a Three-bie? LOL!

So... on Friday I showed you this card that used TWO of the punched Daisy images. Last week, we did the Salt Shakers and Mason Jars in class, and they used THREE of the punched Daisy images. Today, I'm going to show you a card done with just ONE of the punched Daisy images.

So, some things to notice about this card:

  • The Daisy was first stamped, then punched out. The image was cut in half (four petals on each half), then one of the petals was cut off on one half only leaving one image with 4 petals and one with 3. Those were then layered together and then a 3/4" circle was punched and embossed to put on top. I really like this look!
  • Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper was used for both of the DSPs on this card. One was then punched with the Triple Banner Punch to make a flag. The other was cut out of the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
  • The Daisy was popped up with Dimensionals to give it some life.
